If you picture updating your home with hardwood floors, but you have your reservations, you’re certainly not alone. Many homeowners are hesitant to invest in solid hardwoods, which are not only expensive, but things can easily damage them.
However, there’s another option to consider: engineered hardwoods, like the ones manufactured by Hallmark Floors.
Hallmark Floors is a newcomer to the industry but prides itself on innovative and beautiful wood flooring. Hallmark Floors offers engineered hardwoods, waterproof flooring, commercial flooring, and other flooring solutions. In this article, we’re going to focus on the company’s line of engineered hardwoods.
Before you open your wallet to purchase your new floors, make sure you’re getting the most bang for your buck. We’re going to look at factors including price, installation, and selection available from Hallmark Floors. We’ve done our research and have pored through consumer reviews to help you make the right purchase for your home improvement project.
Is Hallmark Floors Engineered Flooring Durable?
Like other brands of engineered flooring, Hallmark Floors’ engineered hardwoods have a durable base of high-quality hardwood and then has a surface layer – or veneer – that is made of hardwood. This results in a sturdy, durable floor that offers several advantages over solid hardwoods.
While these engineered hardwood floors are extremely durable, some precautions need to be taken to prolong the life of your floors. Taking simple steps like putting leg protectors on your furniture, using furniture coasters under heavy furniture and appliances, and using rugs and window treatments can prevent scratching, denting, and fading.
To back up the quality of its flooring products, Hallmark provides a limited warranty on its engineered hardwoods. For residential use, you’ll have a lifetime finish and structural warranty. For commercial usage, you’ll receive a three-year finish warranty and a 10-year structural warranty.
Where Can I Install My New Floors?
You can install your Hallmark Floors engineered hardwoods in nearly any room of your home. Update your living space or create a more tranquil master bedroom.
One good thing about Hallmark Floors’ engineered hardwood is that it’s less likely to warp when exposed to moisture. This doesn’t mean that you can install your floors in a bathroom or leave spills unattended. It does, however, mean that you can install this flooring in a below-grade room, like a basement.
These engineered hardwood floors are suitable for indoor use only. Floor should only be installed in rooms with relative humidity between 30% and 55%. While radiant heat can be used, the surface temperature of the floor should never exceed 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
How Do I Maintain My Hallmark Floors Engineered Hardwoods?
Fortunately, Hallmark Floors provides maintenance guides for cleaning and maintaining your new engineered hardwoods. There are several precautions that you must take, but cleaning and maintenance are fairly straightforward.
You can keep your floors looking great on a daily basis by sweeping or vacuuming. If you opt to vacuum your hardwood, make sure to use a model that is specifically for bare floor use. You also need to perform regular cleaning using one of Hallmark’s approved cleaners, such as Nu Oil Natural Oil Cleaner.
Avoid using products such as oil soap, ammonia, or paste wax. Using these cleaners can not only damage your floor but can also void your warranty. You can use Hallmark ReNu to restore shine and repair minor scratches.
When using one of the cleaners Hallmark Floors has approved, make sure to use a microfiber mop. Never use a wet mop or a steam mop to clean your floor.
You can use area rugs to prevent scratches and scuffs, while also protecting your floors from fading. Use a mat underneath rolling chairs and furniture to prevent damage. Avoid rugs with vinyl backs as they can cause permanent staining.
If you have Nu Oil engineered floors, the manufacturer recommends reinforcing the finish every two to five years using Nu Oil Restoration Oil. You may need to use this more frequently if you have not properly maintained the floors.
What Colors & Styles Are Available?
Hallmark Floors has a wide selection of engineered hardwoods. Whether you like sleek and dark or light and bright, you won’t have any trouble finding a shade that perfectly complements your space and your style.
You’ll also have your choice of a variety of popular wood species including oak, hickory, pine, and maple. Because the surface layer is hardwood, you’ll see the same great features and beauty that you’d find in solid hardwoods.
You’ll also be able to pick from a variety of surface textures, including wire brushed, sawn, and light sculpted. Hallmark Floors engineered hardwoods also have multiple finish options, including Super-Matte and Glaze Tek.
Can I Install This Flooring Myself?
Hallmark Floors makes it as easy as possible to install your new engineered hardwoods. The company provides a variety of resources that homeowners or installers can use to ensure proper installation.
If you don’t have any flooring installation experience, you might find the task to be a little overwhelming. However, Hallmark Floors does provide a pre-installation checklist and detailed instructions walking you through every step of the process.
Installing your floors properly includes steps such as grading and prepping your subfloors, acclimating the floors in the room where you will be installing it, gathering necessary tools and supplies, and laying out the floors. You’ll need to cut to size as needed and use the proper adhesives (if necessary) to adhere your floors.
While these steps aren’t necessarily difficult, the whole process is quite time-consuming, especially if you don’t have experience in flooring installation.
If you don’t feel like taking on this project yourself, you can always hire a professional installer. While this can add hundreds of dollars or more to your total budget, you won’t have to worry about whether or not you’ve installed the floors properly. This is important because improper installation could void your warranties.

It took two years to find the right flooring for my remodeling project. I requested samples from retailers in town and online. One day I found Hallmark Flooring products online. I reviewed the product description and requested samples. This was the perfect flooring for my project — it is beautiful and durable. My contractor said they were very easy to install. The flooring was installed in 2017 and I absolute love it. The first thing anyone says when they enter my home is “I love your floors”. As with any decision during a remodeling project, it is scary. I am thrilled with my decision to purchase Hallmark Flooring.
Should/can these floors Be installed under cabinets & island or should the be installed afterwards?
We installed hallmark Silverado handscraped whiskey barrel Birch engineered hardwoods throughout our home (including the kitchen in 2005. All these years and I still love my floors, as does everyone who visits our home. After a flood in 2012, the insurance company replaced about a fourth of the wood. After a few months all planks blended beautifully. And did I tell you I have a bulldog and lab who love to run through the house every day? The hand scraped wood is great camouflage. I’m not saying you should drag your furniture across the floor, but lite scratches just blend in.
We’re adding a second story to our house this year and I already told the contractor the only finish selection I’m sure of so far is to extend the Hallmark Silverado flooring upstairs!
We have had a problem with our Hallmark Flooring. They have been popping and creaking and have been an annoyance since the first day we moved into our new home. We have had a Sales Rep. from Hallmark Flooring come out and he performed a steel metal ball test to make sure it was installed level. He said that it was level. Then we had the subfloor installers come out and made sure there were plenty of areas nailed. I contacted the retailer Constantly for 3 years until I finally decided to live with this annoying floors. We are now at 6 yrs. at this home and it just keeps getting worse and worse. A friend also purchased Hallmark Flooring and she is getting the same popping and creaking problems. She just had them professionally installed last year. I would be hesitant to recommend this product to anyone and will never install them in my home again.
My wife and I had Hallmark hickory flooring installed throughout most of our home last year. Several months ago we noticed random areas around the house where the top finish is coming off leaving a dull/rough area. I contacted Dan with Builders Flooring Group (BFG) in Camdenton, Missouri who is the local distributor where we purchased the flooring from – along with a substantial amount of other flooring products. He was very pleasant on the phone and said he would look into it. It is now several months later and between countless calls to BFG along with many excuses and apologies…we are no closer to a resolution than ever. BFG has not returned ONE phone call from us. The only conversations we have had were initiated by me. A “factory rep” did come out to inspect the defect, took pictures, asked a lot of questions, wrote a lot of stuff down, and then apparently forgot about us. Multiple calls to BFG since then have gone ignored. Obviously, the lack of customer support from BFG is a separate issue from faulty product distributed by Hallmark, but at the end of the day…it’s still a manufacturer’s problem.

Hello. I purchased Hallmark Raked Oak floors and absolutely love them. They are eight years old and in my living room ( where sun is bright) I notice they are fading a little bit. I have always used the ReNu oil cleaning and and natural oil and have no issues with durability. Just wondering if there is something I could put on them to make them a bit darker again.
Thank so much for a great product! I bought them from McDonalds Hardwood in Denver, CO.
